HEAD'S VIEW
In line with our policy to support one local, one national and one international charity each year, we are now turning our minds towards helping some of the millions in other countries such as Brazil, India and Malawi who suffer from leprosy. We will be supporting the organisation LEPRA which was formed 80 years ago. In February, a representative from LEPRA will be leading an assembly to help us become better informed about the organisation's work and prepare us for our fund raising party dance workout planned for Tuesday 11th March. I know how much the staff are looking forward to doing the 'cha cha slide' alongside the children and at the same time keep fit and raise money to help! We will bring you more details nearer the date.
The issue of parking at the beginning and end of the school day has been brought to my attention once again. This time by a neighbour who lives in Charmouth Road. It appears that one of the family could not move their car to go to work because it was blocked in by one of our parents who drove up, double parked and walked off into the school grounds with their child. When this parent was eventually located, the following exchange apparently left a lot to be desired. This caused the person a good deal of upset as well as being late for work. I do not feel this thoughtless action is acceptable and I know that the vast majority of our parents would feel the same. I have apologised to our neighbours who were affected and I have said that in the future, I will pass on the registration numbers of any drivers acting in such inconsiderate ways to PC Bob Hope and his team. I know that life is not easy at the beginning and end of the day but I urge everyone to respect the rights of others. Thank you for your continued help in this matter.
