CERTIFICATES OF EXCELLENCE – JUNE
At the end of every month each class teacher has a very difficult decision to face. They have to choose the one person from their class to receive a Certificate of Excellence. The person they choose has to consistently be the best that he or she can be. That could be in effort and attitude, achievement, behaviour or citizenship. Sometimes it can be very difficult deciding as all of the children at Newbridge seem to work so hard and behave so well!
The girls and boys with their names here this month deserve congratulating. It is not easy to be awarded a Certificate of Excellence and they have done extremely well.

YEAR 4 CRICKET COACHING
Year 4 have enjoyed 5 weeks of some great cricket coaching. First we did some fielding and catching, then some batting skills and to finish we learnt how to bowl. Our coach, Stuart, taught us some fantastic tactics to help us remember our moves. Then we had two phenomenal games where the standard had clearly risen. We did a catching competition every time. A few people got to go to the cricket club with Tom Baker, but those people had a lot of fun anyway!! In a few weeks we can’t wait to have a cricket festival. We would like to give thanks to our coach Stuart and everyone who has supported us.
By Alice, Thomas and Faizan.

The children have done such a wonderful job of selling those raffle tickets that as a special thank you the entrance fee has been scrapped – so please come along and even if you can only pop in for half an hour, do come, it will be well worth your while!
A big well done!
We have been overwhelmed by the response to the raffle competition! All the children have taken part and thrown themselves into the task. Thank you so much for all your efforts! The exciting news of which year group has won the trip to Wagamamas will be announced next week in Assembly. Good luck and thank you!
Barbecue starts early!
For all of you who have so kindly agreed to give up your time and help run stalls or set up tomorrow morning we have decided to fire up the barbecue early so you can feed yourselves and your families at school without having to trek all the way home and back. So, hotdogs and beef burgers will be available for sale from 1.00pm.
Help still needed!
Gazebos still needed so if you have one we can borrow please bring it along and help us put it up. And if you have a sack-barrow you will be very welcome indeed! If you haven’t put your name down to help – don’t worry just come along! Help is always appreciated! The gate will be open from 10.00am.
In case of bad weather -
Rain or shine – the fete will still go on! We are lucky at Newbridge that we have so much indoor space and if it pours with rain, we will have to use every inch of it! Please come along and show your support because if it does rain we will need it all the more!
