NEWSLETTER Issue: 5.05

HEAD'S VIEW
Today we say a sad 'farewell' to Miss Donnelly whose contract comes to an end as Ms Palmer returns after half term from maternity leave. Miss Donnelly has made a deep impression on us all since her arrival in September. It seems like she has been with us so much longer and, Miss Donnelly, I mean that in the best sense! It feels like that because she has given so much to the children, to the staff and she has just thrown herself into the wider life of the school. Miss Donnelly moves to a post at Peasedown St John Primary and we wish her all the very best there and in the future.

Two other people I want to mention are Mrs Boyle and Mrs Verrechia. Since Ms Palmer’s absence, Mrs Boyle has taken on the role of Year 5/6 phase leader and served on the school management team. She steps down today to make way for Ms Palmer but I want to thank her publicly for all that she has brought to the role and to the school. Drumming in Years 1 and 2 is hugely popular with the children and the reason for that is Mrs Verrechia, ably assisted by her family! Mrs Verrechia's last club for this year is today but the good news is that she returns in September to inspire another generation of drummers.

The parents' and carers' questionnaire goes out today, as mentioned in last week’s newsletter. Your time in completing this questionnaire is greatly appreciated because it really does help us continue to move on as a school. The deadline for return of these forms is Friday 6th June.

As you know, we have had to postpone today's celebrations marking the opening of the new facilities and our ReNewbridge efforts but we try again. Please see the invitation below for Friday 13th June. That leaves me with little else than to say ‘well done and thank you’ to all the staff who continue to do their very best for the children and to the children themselves for making this school such a delight to be in. I hope you all have a great half term!
